My Diamonds are Wreckless

Two months and four days until the BIG DAY!  Brett and I have spent the last few weeks discussing the content of our wedding ceremony.  What does marriage mean to you?  What are the most important values in a lasting marriage?  How do we best express our vows to one another?  What to our rings symbolize?
Brett and I included in the ceremony a few words about the meaning behind our rings.  They are a symbol of the infinite circle of our love.  They are unending, eternal, and always lead us back to each other.  They are as natural as the earth, but as miraculous as finding your true love.  I know, I know… mooshy!  But, that mooshy gooshy love is what makes us the ooey gooey Ramfuses.

If you travel back in time with me, you will envision Brett at his computer researching diamonds.  He explained to me that he knew he wanted spend forever together, knew he wanted to marry me, and knew that it was time to buy the ring.  Armed with the basics of cut, clarity, and carats, he entered EE Robbins with purpose.  Brett told Michelle that he was going to marry the Love of His Life (that’s me!) and needed a round diamond with carats in the exact date of our anniversary.  Michelle presented two options and Brett selected the sparkliest of the group.

That’s where Brett got stuck.  What about the setting?  Does Jessica like gold or platinum, yellow or white, single shank or split shank, solitaires or pavĂ©, modern or classic, smooth or filigree?  WHO KNOWS!?  Around that time, I said to Brett in passing, “It might be kind of fun to look at rings together.  It’s the kind of experience we will only do once.”  And it was decided.  Brett selected the diamond on his own and together we would select the setting.

Our proposal was absolutely perfect.  Brett created a proposal that emphasized what is uniquely us: sincerity, affirmations, connection, and family.  The diamond he had selected was the icing on the cake (the gigantic, brilliantly sparkling, bling-blinging icing on the cake)!

A few months ago Brett and I visited Michelle at EE Robbins again.  She was helpful, patient, and understanding.  After a few trips to see Michelle, we finally selected the perfect setting for me and wedding bands for both of us.  We also made good on all the free beverages and Ring Pops they offer in the store!

Michelle then asked if we would mind being part of their website.  I directed her to our wedding website for more information about us and answered a few questions about our experience at EE Robbins.  Two weeks later, Michelle sent me the link:

Our love has gone viral!

Rings and bling and ice aside, I am overjoyed to be marrying Brett Rafuse.  Throughout the rest of my life, I will look down at my ring and be reminded that our love is infinite.  For, it is our love that truly sparkles!
